Say hi or ask us a question!

We are continuing to develop our software and UI while testing our prototypes. We will continue working with Leighton to test our prototypes and ensure they work at their maximum potential. We are currently still working on researching and developing the project. Apart from this, we are also looking into the applications of our technology in other fields such as demolition projects and educating workers about safe methods to interact with scaffolding. If you would like to collaborate or contact us, please do not hesitate to use the contact form below to shoot us an email!

Solving a Critical Problem

Untouched by any form of technology, scaffolding remains as perilous as ever for construction workers. In cities like Hong Kong, scaffolding is often constructed densely around buildings. With 30+ fatalities per year in Hong Kong alone, scaffolding is not safe and deteriorates over time, especially when it is made of bamboo.

The HeightSecure Solution

The HeightSecure Sensor monitors the integrity of bamboo used in scaffolding. The sensor detects micro-vibrations and inertial movement of the bamboo through measuring a change in position of the bamboo. It works both in the short and long term. In the short-term, it can alert workers if there is significant or unusual movement, payload, or stress detected on a single bamboo stick. In the long-term, it can measure the overall incremental change of movement (through factors such as wind, rain, etc) to see if the bamboo has loosened over time due to wear-and-tear and if it is still safe to use or not. The sensor learns over time with Machine Learning and Mesh integration, and prototypes have been tested at live sites during development.

Aditya Shrisankaraan

CFO, Co-founder

Arhan is a student from Hong Kong, currently studying in CT, USA. With a background in entrepreneurship and computer science, he invented the initial concept of the HeightSecure sensor after seeing the market’s necessity, viability, and current technologies. Arhan led a team of three through the SciTech Innovation Challenge, where HeightSecure was able to win all available awards despite fierce competition. Arhan is now working with the team to continue HeightSecure Technology’s development, focussing on overall operations and product development.

Arhan Chhabra

CEO, Founder

Angus Leung

COO, Co-founder

Aditya Shrisankaraan is a student from Hong Kong with a background in material sciences and business development. He worked on developing a business model for HeightSecure Technologies as well as 3D renders and prints of the prototype casing. He is now working on testing alternate materials to be used in mass production.

Angus Leung is a student from Hong Kong with a background in math and 3D design. He worked on developing 3D renders of the sensor casing with Adi as well as graphics and the user interface design during the SciTech Challenge.

Progress and Awards

The invention is now patented (patent-approved) in multiple countries.

SciTech Innovation Challenge

Student #1 Champion, Most Innovative, Best Presentation

The SciTech Innovation Challenge 2020 is an innovation competition open for teams and companies across Hong Kong to present a solution utilizing sensory technology for the construction industry. We competed against 68 teams with 200+ applicants from other firms across Hong Kong, some firms worth over a billion dollars. Our team attained all 3 available awards including the “Student Champion,” "Best presenter," and "Most innovative" awards. Judges including members of Hong Kong Science and Technology Park and the Construction Innovation Council have provided us with opportunities such as accelerator programs to further expand our project and take our goods to the market.
